Catalyst Seeks Great Design Stories

Design is vital to all aspects of our lives. By bringing depth, clarity and transparency to the industrial design process, these case studies reveal the profound importance of the profession. This concrete body of evidence will instill into the collective consciousness design’s power to effect positive change.

Since 2002, IDSA has curated a series of case studies, the Catalyst Case Study program, which supplies the business community and the average consumer with a series of deep drilling stories regarding exactly how design can be leveraged to generate revenue or to positively address the social challenges of the day. "A large part of society is still unaware that design is responsible for many improvements in their daily lives," said Catalyst Chair Ravi Sawhney, FIDSA. "From intelligent and ergonomic designs that let baby boomers live independently longer, to programs that encourage savings and sustainable designs that benefit the environment, design affects our every day lives."
